Red Cross partners with MTSU as disaster shelter

MTSU has agreed to help the local Red Cross by serving as a disaster shelter for victims.  It will be at the Recreational Center in the basketball gym and will only run during emergencies.  Dr. Linda Skinner with the Heart of Tennessee chapter of the American Red Cross says they hope to never have to open the shelter, but is grateful it's there when it's needed.  They estimate the facility can serve as a shelter for around 80 people.

Injured Oakland football player recovering

Oakland football player Brandon Messick is recovering from a spinal injury suffered in a recent game.  His family reports he went to the doctor this week for adjustments to his halo and X-rays showed he is healing correctly.  He's even been back to school, in a tall-backed wheelchair for support.  The family thanks the community for their concern and asks that you keep him in your prayers during his long recovery period.
